Electrical Engineer

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to multidisciplinary teams that plan, design, and deliver water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems in the Denver, Colorado office.The ideal candidate will support power, controls, and instrumentation design from concept through construction, helping communities ensure clean, reliable, and resilient water infrastructure.This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Develop electrical design documents for water/wastewater facilities, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, equipment layouts, panel schedules, cable/conduit routing, and grounding/lightning protection plans.Assist with motor control systems (MCCs, VFDs, soft starters), standby power systems (generators, ATS, UPS), and low-voltage power distribution.Perform short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies under supervision using industry-standard software.Draft and edit technical specifications, basis-of-design reports, calculations, and engineer’s estimates of probable construction costs.Coordinate with civil, mechanical, structural, process, and construction management teams to resolve design interfaces and deliver integrated packages.Participate in quality reviews, submittal/RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and field activities such as site assessments, factory acceptance tests, and commissioning support.Contribute to digital design workflows in CAD/BIM environments and help maintain model and drawing standards.Maintain strong project documentation, schedule awareness, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.Work with local and national Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls experts.
