101541BRJob Title:Mgr, Acctg CorpLocation:Vistar Corporate (9002)Job Description:Supports the Accounting function for the Manufacturing segment Operating Companies (OpCo's) by playing a key role in the month end close process, analyzing financial data for accuracy and completeness, and working with internal partners to resolve any issues. Some key tasks will include reconciling balance sheet accounts, creating journal entries, applying accounting knowledge to complete ad hoc projects, providing audit assistance, and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies. Communication skills are important as this role will be working with shared service departments and key business partners, vendors, and auditors. The individual in this role should be able to make recommendations for improving internal controls and processes to make the accounting function more efficient. Overall, this role will function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.Position Responsibilities:
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and record journal entries.
Prepare and record month-end accruals.
Perform moderately complex accounting reconciliations and balance sheet trend analysis, as assigned.
Record Intercompany cash transactions and reconcile bank statements on a daily and monthly basis.
Create and submit all capital acquisitions requests (CAR) including gathering proper quote/invoices and tracking of expenditures.
Management of Fixed Assets and Construction-in-Progress accounts.
Prepare reports and make recommendations that aid management in determining the proper accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
Provide recommendations for process improvements.
Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines.
Maintain and/or lead established moderately complex accounting projects as assigned by management.
Coordinate with the Performance Business Services Center to ensure accurate G/L upload to the corporate consolidation system and assist with reconciling any differences through the management of the OpCo Chart of Accounts.
Prepare sales tax recordings and returns.
Partners with warehouse personnel to evaluate operational performance, such as inventory management, capacity and accounting processes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
