Job Description
We believe in the power of community and our ability to leverage technology to mobilize community support for military families. We are seeking a Communications Specialist to create and implement communications strategies that advance our mission. Specifically, we are seeking someone who can promote our organization and its activities across multiple communications platforms, including social media, traditional mass media, and blogs. As a member of our team, you will help define our direction moving forward by playing a key role in shaping the messaging strategies and tactics we employ to achieve our mission.
Job Status: Part-time
Reporting to: Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, support and promote company goals, including message development, social media content creation, and media outreach.
Manage social media content creation and the social media content, weekly blogs, and monthly newsletters.
Manage our Google Adwords account.
Create and update standard operating procedures related to the position.
Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them.
Ensure all communications strategies align with our brand's identity and message, and assist in marketing campaigns as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
College Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
Advanced critical thinking, research, and writing skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and tackle new challenges
Proven ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, such as SEO and email marketing
Advanced computer skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new computer systems
