Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)Job Description: A large, privately owned organization in New Haven County is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team at one of the top surgery centers in New England. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for correlating clinical data, demonstrating a high standard of communication, assessing, planning, evaluating, and ensuring the implementation of patient care to achieve identified outcomes and deliver safe patient care. The role requires maintaining and assessing clinical expertise, documenting all patient information according to established standards of care, and demonstrating expertise with infection control while engaging in standard and universal precautions as trained or instructed.Responsibilities:
Correlate clinical data.
Demonstrate a high standard of communication.
Assess, plan, evaluate, and ensure the implementation of patient care to achieve identified outcomes.
Deliver safe patient care.
Maintain and assess clinical expertise.
Document all patient information according to established standards of care.
Ensure the availability of accurate and relevant information in accordance with surgery center standards.
Demonstrate expertise with infection control.
Engage in standard and universal precautions as trained or instructed.
Essential Skills:
Holds a current state of Connecticut license as a Registered Nurse.
Holds a current certification in basic life support.
1-2 years of PACU experience.
Experience in ICU, CCU, or ED.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to multitask and focus on details.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Ability to work well with surgeons, employees, patients, and coworkers alike.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
BSN preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience, orthopedics a plus.
Experience working in a surgery center is a plus.
Possess a good command of the English language, both oral and written.
Ability to meet the needs of the nursing service as demanded by the schedule, especially when overtime hours and time changes are necessary.
Work Environment:
Schedule: Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM (flexible).
Location: 84 N Main St, Branford, CT.
The work environment is a large 9,000 square foot Surgical Center located in Branford, exclusively staffed and operated by top orthopedic surgeons who perform the latest, most innovative procedures in the area.
