SMThe Adaptive Portal Product Owner is primarily responsible for working directly with stakeholders to define and/or analyze their business requirements, documenting complete functional specifications, user acceptance testing, and creating mock-ups and prototypes as needed.In this role, you will contribute to the design, specifications, configuration, acceptance testing, and deployment required for successful implementation. The Product represents stakeholders in our Agile environment, acting as the voice for business users and their needs. This position works closely with Product Management to ascertain business needs and user objectives and to determine best-value options for solving problems. The PO then translates these higher-level requirements into user stories and success criteria that are granular enough to be implemented through our agile teams.The Product Owner is a valued team member in iteration planning, backlog maintenance, sprint reviews/retrospectives and product demonstrations; maintaining open communication across stakeholders so each item receives the support needed to be successful. The Product Owner’s functionality expertise is invaluable during design and launching, guiding technical, development and QA teams to making crucial functional decisions.This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

Provides explanations and interpretations within area of domain expertise:

Optum Adaptive Portal

Provides domain knowledge by conferring with internal/external stakeholders and subject matter experts, understanding system flow, operational work processes, reporting needs, and regulatory impact.

Acts as the primary communication conduit for all development activity including:

Facilitates all requirement-gathering activities including meetings, JAD sessions, etc.

Keeps stakeholders, subject matter experts, business areas and IT apprised of all project development through day-to day engagement with various activities.

Provides use cases and interface designs to appropriate teams when necessary.

Interprets the business needs of a customer and translates them into application and operational requirements with the help of strong analytical and product management.

Develops business context diagrams (e.g., business data flows, process flows) to analyze/confirm the definition of project requirements.

Defines desired future state requirements based on input from all applicable stakeholders .

Identifies capability gaps between current state and desired state (e.g., system capacity, emerging technologies)

Creates, analyzes and validates detailed functional specifications by using flow charts, activity diagrams, and operational workflow analysis.

Collaborates with strategic stakeholders to identify key deliverables to continuously enhance the members/customers’ experience.

Partners with Product Management and Product Directors to define the business needs and vision/business value.

Creates and manage the product/team backlog through partnership with business stakeholders and agile teams and coordinates work priority within the sprint.

Ensures traceability between requirements to Features to user stories.

Incorporates epics, themes, business problems and features into concise user stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint.

Conducts and/or supports testing activities, as appropriate (e.g., production testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, production validation, compliance with test scenarios)

Plans/executes user testing scenarios/scripts and prepare test data.

Translates problems/issues identified during the testing/piloting process, and engages the appropriate stakeholders (e.g., business, IT) to help identify impact and potential solutions .

Communicates testing results to appropriate stakeholders (e.g., business owners, operations groups, project team)

Provides ongoing support to ensure proper implementation and adoption of the solution (e.g., post-deployment support, definition/monitoring of control plans)

High School Diploma / GED

2+ years of experience in a business analysis OR development role (requirements gathering, design, development, test, and implementation)

1+ years of product ownership experience within an Agile framework 

1+ years of Project management experience (process improvement evaluation and planning)

Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Create / Edit, Formula Management)

Experience with Microsoft Word (Creating / Editing / Managing documents)

Must be 18 years of age OR older

Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience working in one of these domains (UMR CPS, Aerial / Optum, Clinical Knowledge, Optum Adaptive Portal)

Experience with Microsoft Visio

Experience with the way data is structured in one of these domains (UMR CPS, Aerial / Optum, Clinical Knowledge, Optum Adaptive Portal)

Telecommuting Requirements:

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Soft Skills:

Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple stakeholders

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The annual range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Hawaii / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $58,300 - $114,300 per year.
