OverviewFLSA Status: Non-exempt, Seasonal (November 2019 – December 2019)Hours Per Week: VariesSchedule: VariesBe a representative of The Salvation Army by ringing bells for the Christmas Kettle Campaign at assigned outdoor locations, ensure the Kettle is never left unattended, and greet the public in a friendly manner. Money raised will help fulfill the needs of the hungry, homeless, ill, and lonely.ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Greet each passerby in a friendly and respectful manner while ringing the bell.

Smile, make eye contact and be courteous by saying "thank you" for every donation.

Stand next to kettle at all times.

Be clean, well-groomed, and appropriately dressed in a manner consistent with Salvation Army standards.

Arrive on time and accurately complete a time card each day.

Keep kettle stand area neat and free of clutter.

Comply with requests from store managers and owners (i.e. moving locations, not ringing the bell, etc.).

Be familiar with some of the social service work of The Salvation Army in the community (i.e. locations, key statistics, etc.) in order to respond to common questions.

Be familiar with fundraising initiatives such as Online Giving in order to respond to questions from the public.

Qualifications

Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.

Ability to politely greet and respond to the general public.

Ability to abide by required dress code.

Ability to ring small hand bell for the duration of the shift.

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to stand in one location for extended periods of time in outside weather conditions.

Ability to conduct all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.

Must be self-motivated and highly enthusiastic.

Must be able to lift filled kettles, metal tripods, and signs daily as needed throughout the season.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must be friendly and have a positive attitude.

Must be able to respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
