Description:Job description: Clinical tasks such as taking medical histories, recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, collect and prepare laboratory specimens and/or swab testing, perform basic laboratory tests on the premises, dispose of contaminated supplies, sterilize medical instruments, arrange examining room instruments and equipment, clean and organize waiting and examining rooms, instruct patients about medications and special diets, authorize drug refills as directed, telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy and prepare patients for x-rays. Licensure, Certification, Registration Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment. Language Skills Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English. Preferred Requirements Education Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Experience Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office. EPIC EMR experience.
