MEDICAL SECRETARY (CARDIOLOGY)Contract l Onsite l 40 hrs This role is required to work in a few different offices throughout the week: W. Hartford, Hartford, Glastonbury, AvonQualifications:

1 year medical administration experience (i.e. receptionist, administrative, scheduler)

Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology

Good interpersonal communication is necessary

EMR Knowledge preferred

Job Duties:Working in a few different offices throughout the week: W. Hartford, Hartford, Glastonbury, Avon.The Medical Secretary will be tied to a Dr and MA and they will work out of the offices mentioned above throughout the week. The medical secretary will be responsible for checking patients in and out for their appointments and scheduling appointments.

Handling a large number of inbound calls from patients

Triaging calls to RN's when needed.

Scheduling Appointments for patients.

Managing doctors calendar

Mainly inbound calls NOT outbound calls.

Work Environment

Working onsite in the above mentioned offices

Busy cardiology practice

Monday-Friday - Need to be able to start as early as 7:15 on some days and stay until 5pm /40 hours

Under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24 hours-a-day with a team of Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physicians consisting of interns and residents. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager, Patient Unit. Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Hospital based or physician office work experience preferred.
