JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager, Patient Unit. REQUIRED: Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. General cleaning and routine related activities in assigned areas according to the department standards, policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment for patients, visitors and hospital personnel. Must have the ability to operate standard cleaning equipment such as (carts, burnishers, buffers auto-machines, vacuum cleaners, wet vacuums and other related equipment) as trained. Ability to remain calm in a fast –paced environment and handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with all levels of patients, the public, and other health care workers. Exhibits initiative, flexibility and teamwork. Works collaboratively with co-workers, nursing and others to enhance the Patient Experience. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information.
