Description We are excited to announce a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Hartford, Connecticut. This role is within the construction and architecture industry and involves supporting the controller in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Assist in the process of month end and year end closings Address general accounting tasks as required Reconcile accounts and balance sheets as part of regular duties Provide support to the controller in a high-paced work environment Use industry experience in construction and architecture to enhance accounting practices Handle the task of processing customer applications with high accuracy Maintain and update customer credit records Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner Monitor customer accounts and take the necessary actions when needed Utilize skills in 'Year End Closings', 'Account Reconciliation', 'Balance Sheet Reconciliation', 'Month End Close' to perform tasks efficiently.Requirements The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field of accounting. Proficiency in Year End Closings is essential. The candidate should have demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation. Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required. The candidate must have experience in Month End Close procedures. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. Candidates must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required. The candidate must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously is critical. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are necessary. The candidate should have a professional certification such as CPA, which is preferred but not mandatory.
