Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Responsible for the preparation and reporting of various statutory supplemental and state compliance filings, which includes footnotes for annual and quarterly statutory financial statements and annual statutory audits.
Supports the preparation and review of accurate and complete statutory disclosures in our financial statements.
Maintain SOX compliant internal controls.
Assist in financial close and reporting process with quarterly and annual deliverables
Perform required internal controls and maintain documentation of the controls as required under SOX
Performs variance analysis and analytical review
Streamline processes and procedures to continually improve efficiency and control
Assist in strategic initiatives, financial reporting & financial analysis projects, and with process improvement projects
Requirements:
BS in Accounting or related; CPA or CPA in progress in preferred; MBA or Masters preferred
3+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience
Big 4 or Regional Accounting firm experience is highly preferred
Exposure to Insurance, Investment, or Financial Services industry within public accounting is highly preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
