Location: Newington, CT
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am to 4 or 5 pm, could go longer depending on the project
Compensation: $19/hr
Duties:
Assisting crew in digging trenches to place conduit for fiber optic cables.
Placing conduit in trench, backfilling with dirt and using machines to tamp and compact.
Raking out rocks, shoveling them into dump trailer or truck.
Placing topsoil and raking out to finish restoration.
Digging holes to set handholes (plastic boxes) at the ends of the conduits
Placing pull ropes in the conduits
Pulling the fiber in the conduits.
Operating a jack hammer to break away asphalt or concrete where we need to cross driveways or roads.
Removing same in conjunction with the excavation equipment and loading into dump trailer or truck.
Assisting crew foreman with replacing asphalt or concrete.
General lifting, digging, raking, sweeping to clean up work areas.
