Landscape Maintenance Foreman

Minimum Requirements for Position

This position is for a hands-on Landscape Maintenance Foreman.

Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop, or kneel for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.

Must have a thorough understanding and performance of professional landscape maintenance, time management, and horticultural best practices.

Two years of experience in landscape management, leading multiple crews and projects preferred.

Two years of experience leading a using commercial landscape equipment (walk behind mower, blower, etc.) or Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.

Reliable transportation to and from work.

Must be available for snow removal.

Must speak and understand English.

Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Must have a social security number.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers.

2. Landscape maintenance including but not limited to, grass cutting, stringline edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize, plant installations, and perform other lawn care duties as needed.

3. Supervise the work of crew members to ensure proper safety, quality, and productivity.

4. Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction issues.

5. Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment.

6. Daily preparation of materials, load all tools, gas and other necessary equipment.

7. Hook-up, pull and back-up landscape trailers. Secure all equipment safely.

8. Wash dirty landscape equipment at the end of the work, clean out truck/trailer by removing trash, debris, etc. daily.

9. End of the day/week equipment maintenance and reporting.

10. Train, manage, and inform crew members on all aspects of landscape maintenance and job safety.

11. Ability to track progress, issues, and specifications on each property to meet profitability mark using company software.

12. Meet with customers regarding any questions, comments or concerns in a polite and courteous manner.

13. Report damaged or broken equipment to our mechanic immediately.

14. Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and pride in work performed.

15. Winter snow work is mandatory 24/7 on call duties that include but not limited to shoveling, plowing, and salting by hand or with equipment.

Work Conditions

Able to work 8-10 hour days walking, standing, and crouching.

Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot or cold conditions.

Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, and dirty/wet worksites.
