A position is now open for a Restoration Woodworker Intern for immediate hire!

This position is for restoration work on historic architectural wood elements such as; window sashes, doors, shutters, railings and other historical architectural features. This position is for in-shop artisan level skilled work at our facility and does not generally require any work on job sites.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Prospective candidates with previous experience in the following will be preferred:

Working with wood window sashes, cabinets, wood railings, doors, shutters, millwork installations, or other similar kinds of work. Preferred skills include the knowledge and experience of working with jointers, planers, power saws, routing equipment, sanders, etc.

Operations will include the disassembly of historic wood sashes, stripping, sanding and preparation of muntins, rails and stiles for finishing, and the reassembly of component pieces. Other operations will include making dutchmen and epoxy repairs to components and the fabrication of replacement components to match existing dimensions, profiles and joinery.

Must be conscientious, responsible, organized, and able to work unsupervised for most tasks. Must speak English.

Job is contract based, regular hours, 30 to 40 hour work week, with pay rate commensurate with experience and ability.
