Job Title: Warehouse Employee
Location: Windsor Locks, CT
Position Type: Temporary to Permanent, Full Time 8:30 am-5 pm
Job Summary:
As a warehouse employee, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse facility. You will be responsible for various tasks related to receiving, storing, and distributing goods and products. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to safety will contribute to the overall success of our warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Unloading: Receive incoming shipments, inspect them for accuracy and quality, and unload goods from delivery trucks.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track stock movements, and perform regular stock counts or audits.
Storage: Safely and efficiently store goods in designated warehouse locations, following proper stacking and shelving procedures.
Order Picking and Packing: Select and pick products from shelves or bins according to order specifications and prepare them for shipment. Ensure accuracy in order fulfillment.
Quality Control: Inspect products for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
Shipping: Prepare and package items for outbound shipments, including labeling, documentation, and loading onto delivery vehicles.
Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain equipment as needed.
Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the warehouse clean and organized to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and managers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
Forklift certification (not required).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Working Conditions:
Physical demands include lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating warehouse equipment.
Exposure to varying temperatures and environments, depending on the type of products stored.
Possible overtime, weekend, or evening work as needed.
