Job Title: Medical AssistantJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join a busy Urology office in Farmington/Hartford. This role involves working in a fast-paced medical environment and offers the potential for a permanent position after the contract period.Responsibilities

Manage and organize medical records, files, and documents.

Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and follow-ups.

Handle phone calls, emails, and other correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate communication.

Input and update patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Assist with medical billing, coding, and insurance claims processing.

Monitor and order office supplies and medical equipment as needed.

Essential Skills

1+ year of medical assistant experience

Experience with appointment scheduling

Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems

Knowledge of medical terminology and authorizations

Familiarity with insurance processes

Strong administrative skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Team player, reliable, and flexible

Experience with EPIC (preferred but not required)

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program (certification or registration required)

Work EnvironmentThe position is Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. No weekends required. The office values teamwork, enthusiasm, punctuality, reliability, and compassion. Dress code includes scrubs, closed-toed shoes, and maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with patients. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role. Provides direct patient care under direction of provider, including but not limited to vitals, allergy/ medical reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives and virtual health. Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education including but not limited to scheduling, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations. Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation. Travel between Manchester, Enfield, Avon, Farmington, West Hartford, Hartford, and Glastonbury. Education: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below. Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment. Experience: In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
