Residential general contractor company looking for a construction assistant. Part time position 7a-12p Monday through Friday. We are flexible with end time if there is more work to be done or less work to be done, but we will require a 7a start at least 4 days a week. Willing to work with a second job schedule, child schedule, or pre-retirement schedule.
This job is ideal for an entry level person with a good knowledge basis who is looking to increase their job knowledge in the field. This would also be great for someone near the end of their career who has a good knowledge of the industry but is looking for a lighter construction load.
Job Description - Material delivery/inventory. Company Vehicle provided. Assistant will be responsible for the pick up and delivery of material for jobs. Knowledge of construction material and organization are key here. Assistant must also keep a record of material to help job cost and therefore be organized with good written and communication skills. Though very heavy lifting isn't necessary, must be able to lift sheetrock and 16ft lumber. We use multiple suppliers and run multiple job sites. Driver must be willing and able to drive. Efficiency is key here. Ideal candidate will know what is needed on job sites and help alleviate the material acquisition inefficiencies (multiple trips, over/under purchase, wrong/damaged material). Compensation based on efficiency. We are a team and will grow together.
Job description - While materials are first priority, manual labor on the job site may be necessary. This is optional and if material acquisition fills part time hours, that is something we can work with. Examples of manual labor could be: misc small works, shoe molding and knob install, insulating small areas, small sheetrock patches, knowledge of small scale vent work a plus. Own personal hand tools a plus. Candidate must be willing to climb 12 ft ladders.
