Metal Craftsmen
Established ornamental statuary business has a position available for one metal craftsmen. Work with pure lead (the metal) to create ornamental fountains and statuary from molds.
Position requires the preparation of molds, casting molten lead, cleaning of seams and welding parts to create a whole. After assembly all welds are cleaned and details are added with hand tools. Fountains require copper plumbing, which requires the preparation of copper tubing and fittings and assembly with solder.
Individual should be comfortable working with gas torches and have some welding experience, even though this process is more like soldering than welding.
Independent work after training is complete. Our metal crafts are a small part of a larger operation.
Full time, year round, all indoor work at our facility in Oxford, CT, close to airport industrial area. Benefits include paid holidays, medical after 60 days with 401K and paid vacation time after 1 year. Starting rate is $18 hour. Respond via email or fax with Resume and related experience.
