Job Description:
Mongoose Industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of mechanics. Additionally, the Lead Mechanic will play a key role in attracting and retaining new customers, contributing to the growth and success of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily operations of the mechanical department.
Create a timeline for auto repairs and ensure that other mechanics are adhering to it.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of vehicles.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance.
Train, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanics.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and effective maintenance services.
Ensure accurate billing for all repairs and services.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
Actively participate in community and networking events to promote the business.
Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain new customers.
Assist in creating marketing materials and campaigns.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
Certification as an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable.
Experience in customer service and client relations.
Proven track record of successfully attracting and retaining customers.
