Immediate opening for a Mechanic in our North Haven facility on 2nd shift working on Heavy Equipment such as front-end loaders, cranes, engines, and other construction equipment and our Shredder. Training available for the right candidate. Sims offers a competitive compensation package. Lots of overtime available!
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
6 months minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting;
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Electrical and Hydraulic experience is a definite plus.
Ability to multi-task and in a team environment
Must enjoy working outdoors
Must be able to work 4pm - 1:30am and Saturdays
Technical/Vocational School education preferred
Position involves standing for long periods of time
Some heavy lifting
Employee should be able to climb and work at heights
The individual will work hand in hand with operational departments to schedule preventative maintenance work and follow up, to ensure service work is complete, including documentation. When breakdowns occur, the incumbent is responsible to ensure that equipment is back in service as soon as possible. May include occasional nights and weekends if production schedules require.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug and criminal background screening.
