About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Site Work Estimator to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for site development and civil construction projects. You will review project plans, analyze requirements, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and profitable bids. Key Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, drainage, and infrastructure.
Quantify labor, equipment, and material requirements.
Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure accurate and practical estimates.
Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain organized records of unit costs, production rates, and historical project data.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and change order pricing as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
5+ years of estimating experience in site work and/or civil construction.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, HCSS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple estimates under deadlines.
