The Pay: $17 an hour. Paid for all hours worked in ONE payment at the END OF SUNDAY. I get paid by festival owner end of day Sunday, so that is when I will pay you - no exceptions.
The Job: The Garlic Festival, held annually, is a seriously busy event. The parking lot staff works the huge main lot that surrounds the Fairgrounds as well as the auxiliary parking lot across the street. We DO NOT park cars - we only stand and direct traffic flow, using signal flags, to available parking spaces. It is easy enough work, but the parking lot is super busy all day and we are outside for all of it. It is an outdoor eventit is a RAIN OR SHINE eventthe event runs when it is chilly and windy.
Who should reply to this ad: You want to work, not just earn money. You have a valid driver's license (we don't park the cars but if you don't drive then you will not be good at directing cars to park on this field - sorry, no exceptions). You are well prepared for any kind of bad weather and/or hot and sunny days. Raingear, comfortable shoes (with rain shoes in your car as a backup), snacks/lunch in a cooler or insulated bag, a fully charged cell phone, hat, sunglasses AND the full complete total absolute ability to remain on the field both days from 7:30am - 4pm. Signal flags, safety vest (must be worn - no exceptions) and bottled waters are provided. Proper clothing, snacks/lunches, hat, sunglasses all must be brought by you. There is NO place to charge your phone. You WILL NOT be allowed into the festival to get lunch - the lines for food are up to 30 minutes long - you MUST bring food with you.
