Golden Retriever Research Vet Technician

We are seeking Golden Retriever Research Vet Technician will play a vital role in the Golden Retriever Lifespan Study @ our kennel in Bethel CT.

Situated on a 1/2 acre private BnB facility with a dedicated kennel and training yard is the new location for our R&D kennel.

This is because we are dedicated to studying the reasons for shortened lifespan in Golden Retrievers, exclusively. The work means collecting genetic and performance analysis and sharing the data with local and international universities, researchers and breeders.

We find it medically fascinating that four common carcinomas and sarcomas that affect the Retriever, also affect humans! So our kennel and lab are being set up and designed to help understand what is wrong with the breeds genetics and where we can learn more about human diseases that are affected by the same genes.

We intend to use private funding and grants to progress the molecular medicine research. You would be helping to write and deliver grant funded research. You will be working in collaboration with UC San Diego, and other universities around the world.

We provide our dogs once trained as companions to needy families suffering PTSD, where we pay for the veterinary care, life long in order to help gather data about the nature and nurture of the lineage we are breeding. This way we never lose touch with our puppies throughout their lifespan.

For the right individual, we would consider paying for veterinary tech or vet medical school, or reimbursing, as part of the career progression of this role and to assist us in published research. We need to publish genetic and biological studies across all our dogs.

Career Progression:

Start as a kennel operator, living onsite.

Both room and board are included in this full-time position

We also provide an electric vehicle to use.

Both medical and dental benefits are included.
