Norbert E. Mitchell Co., Inc. is looking for full time Fleet Mechanics. Candidates must be highly safety conscious, enthusiastic, detail oriented and well organized in order to ensure our fleet is maintained to the highest level of safety and performance.
Job Summary:
The Fleet Mechanic shall be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostic testing and repairs on a variety of vehicles and vehicle systems. Vehicles will include sedans, pick-up trucks, service vans, utility trucks, utility trucks with cranes, straight trucks, bobtails, tractors, trailers, dump trucks and construction equipment. Vehicle systems will include a/c, brakes, electrical, power train, suspension, tires, computer systems, metering systems, piping and tanks. The technician shall:
Maintain outstanding customer service at all times
Ensure the consistency and quality of each task performed
Perform vehicle inspections, diagnosis and repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment
Perform all aspects of vehicle repairs by using various types of diagnostic and testing equipment
Be responsible for the cleanliness of the area where work is performed
Clearly communicate details of the vehicle service to the Fleet Manager
Neatly and completely fill out service paperwork
Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent
Trade schooling preferred
At least 5 years Fleet experience
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of Fleet experience preferred
Possess or have the ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License and be insurable by the Company insurance
Own mechanic's tools and be willing to add tools as needed
Able to use hand tools, air tools and power tools
Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Able to work well under pressure and tight dead lines
Work in accordance with established safety procedures
Available to work weekends and on-call
