Boehringer Ingelheim is currentlyseeking a driven, energetic, results-oriented Scientist I / II to join theIn Vivo Sciences group of the Immunology and Respiratory Research TherapeuticArea in Ridgefield, CT.

This individual should have strong rodent in vivotechnical skills, a passion for learning combined with a sense of creativity,as well as strong communication and organizational skills.

This individual willbe required to plan and perform in vivo studies to advance ourinnovative and novel research programs, aimed at improving the lives ofpatients suffering from inflammatory diseases.

This position requires passion,attention to detail, hands-on experience and teamwork.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Initiates and completes routine in vivo study duties, such as dosing by standard routes, identification, health monitoring and sample collection, in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision, including time during weekends and outside of traditional work hours

Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; Troubleshoots effectively.

Demonstrates technical ability to assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in the context of immunological in vivo models with supervision

Applies basic scientific principles with minimal guidance; Performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols

Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments and to propose appropriate follow-up

Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; Contributes to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports;

provide input for scientific reports

Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics

Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies

Scientist II Requirements :

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience, or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field

Experience in routine routes of rodent dosing (i.v., i.p., p.o., s.c., i.m., and i.t.), health monitoring, and sample collection.

Ability to perform routine biochemical and / or histological analysis is a plus.

Apply knowledge of basic theory and scientific principles for conducting in vivo research.Direct experience in rodent models of immunology and inflammation are a plus.

Understanding of regulations and IACUC oversight applicable to the use of animals in research

Able to draft portions of IACUC protocols and technical reports

Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information

Ability to troubleshoot

Written and verbal communication skills

Scientist I Requirements :
