AECOM is seeking a multimodal engineer, capable of managing and coordinating large programs, for a Structural Engineering Manager position in Rocky Hill, CT.  In this role, the ideal candidate will use their knowledge and understanding of railroad and/or bridge engineering along with their experience in project management to effectively manage and lead large rail infrastructure projects.  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.Manages large projects to achieve specified objectives. Overall planning, coordination and control of projects from inception to completion.  Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates technical assignments.Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.Prepares and/or oversees preparation of reports, proposals, and other documentation for clients and review agenciesParticipates in leadership discussions and effectively communicates workload requirements for a specific technical group or department.Supports client relationships by performance, service, and effective communication.Trains, mentors and develops staff and supports career growth opportunities for staff.
