VP, Growth Risk Manager

Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:Reporting to the VP, Growth Risk Leader - Product, this individual will be responsible for supporting the change management center of excellence, focused on business change events outside of New Product Introduction. This will include participation in the development and challenge of the build, execution, and ongoing modifications to the first line change process. As a key player in the change process, this role will coordinate the Risk personnel to ensure engagement at the appropriate level. Beyond the change process, this role may serve as the compliance SME on various change events.We're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:

Provide strategic thought leadership and effective challenge of the development of/modifications to business change governance process, including the development of minimum enterprise governance standards

Provide ongoing credible challenge to the business change process, including the completed risk scoring questionnaires for individual change events

Develop risk-based risk assessment questionnaire, required artifacts and process, inclusive of validation process, to be utilized by Risk team in the assessment of risk related to first line change initiatives

Provide strategic thought leadership, oversight and effective challenge of the development and ongoing operation of the Growth/CD Sales tollgate

Assist in the coordination of the Risk department to ensure proper support for Synchrony change projects; inclusive of identification of appropriate tollgates, assignment of Risk lead, coordination/oversight of the completion of required documentation, including appropriate risk assessment tool

Develop reporting for Risk team related to the change management process and distribute on a defined schedule, including follow up as required

Develop a strong working knowledge of all first line tollgate processes, including understanding of scope

Perform annual risk assessment, assessing inherent risk and control effectiveness of various Synchrony L3 processes as assigned

Support the issues management process by providing guidance for compliance and operational risk issues to ensure accurate and consistent remediation and mitigation plans

Assist with periodic review of applicable policies, procedures and guidelines and ensure the implementation of recommended changes

Establish effective relationships with all functional areas

Ensure significant risks are promptly escalated to the appropriate level

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years financial services experience . In lieu of degree, 9+ years of financial services and/or governance experience

5+ years of Compliance, Risk, or Audit experience in the financial services industry

Grade/Level: 12The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
