Growing together.Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Senior Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the staffing and day-to-day operations for the practice. The Senior Patient Care Coordinator works collaboratively with practice leadership and clinicians to ensure optimal operating efficiency, clinician productivity and patient satisfaction.Primary Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager in support of the business and clinical objectives of the practice, ensuring optimal operating efficiency, clinician productivity and patient satisfaction

Coordinate staffing and day-to-day operations of the practice

Conduct or participate in regular scheduled staff communication activities: Daily huddle, bi-weekly and/or monthly staff meetings

Staff Training: Orient new employees, train staff as directed and work with Clinical Lead to coordinate and manage new hire and training for medical assistants

Staffing: Coordinate staff work schedules and manage staff PTO requests

Coordinate day to day coverage needs, including same day reassignment of staff when there are call outs: Participate with Practice Manager in new staff selection, hiring and on-boarding, and provide input on performance management to Practice Manager

Responsible for oversight and improvement of front office processes (registration accuracy, eligibility processing, scanning accuracy, segregation of duties and roles) in conjunction with corporate changes

Participate in organizational initiatives and projects including workflow improvement initiatives

Oversight of critical processes: PCI compliance across locations, working with finance to improve deposit accuracy and timeliness and patient safety measure compliance

Support the care team and patients by greeting, checking in patients, scheduling appointments, answering in person and telephonic inquiries, collect payments and maintain demographic information

Attend General Practice Manager’s monthly meetings as requested

Assist in the handling of patient complaints

Perform other duties as assigned

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

3+ years of medical office experience with demonstrated leadership competency

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration or a related field

Strong written and oral communication skills

Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all front office processes

Experience with patient financial and scheduling systems

Experience working with Epic

Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Connecticut Residents Only: The hourly range for Connecticut residents is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
