Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Secretary in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry, based in West Haven, Connecticut. This role will involve providing administrative support in a healthcare setting, handling patient appointments, managing correspondence, and using healthcare software. Responsibilities: Efficiently manage patient scheduling and appointments Handle check in and check out procedures for patients Provide secretarial support, including managing correspondence and relaying messages to staff Utilize Epic Software to maintain patient records and appointments Answer inbound calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel Perform basic office tasks and manage switchboard operations with 1 - 10 lines Prepare and review charts and graphs related to patient data Handle patient authorizations and maintain accurate records Prioritize tasks and multitask effectively to ensure smooth operations Deliver excellent verbal communication and customer service to patients and staff. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry. Proficiency in using Epic Software is a must. Proven experience in answering inbound calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel. Demonstrable skills in obtaining authorizations as required. Ability to create and interpret charts and graphs. Strong skills in patient scheduling and managing patient appointments. Possession of basic office skills. Experience in operating switchboards and managing phone lines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Familiarity with medical terminology and medical office procedures. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Medical Secretary will be a plus. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. detail oriented attitude and appearance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
