Award winning Civil/Environmental Engineering firm with multiple offices seeking all survey positions; Survey Manager, Senior Party Chief, Survey Crew Members or individuals aspiring to ascend to one these positions. Urgently seeking motivated Land Surveyors who are licensed or have an interest in becoming licensed. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to be a leader and and has interest in becoming the Director of Survey or advance to that position.Job Duties:
This position may include work as leader of a two or three member crew and in some instances a one-person crew
Transferring Field Data to Office Computer Network
Performing field work and research to include field location necessary to complete survey drawings
Utilities research and location, photogrammetric ground control, construction stake-out, land records
Completing drawings for land-use planning, storm and sanitary sewer design, site plan preparation, subdivision design
Travel within Connecticut as they will need to visit the firms current project sites
Perform research at various locations for deeds, maps and easements.
Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction, using engineering design plans.
Perform boundary computations to be reviewed
Collect information needed to carry out surveys, using maps, previous survey data, photographs,
Computer records and other relevant information.
Prepare topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information.
Perform manual labor such as cutting brush for lines, carrying stakes, rebar and other items required for surveys.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be proficient with data collectors, data collection techniques, robotic instruments, conventional field note-keeping, total stations and leveling. - Experience with or ability to learn the use of 3D scanners
Candidate must be a self-starter, with little need for supervision once provided with a work assignment
Must be able to work in inclement weather
Willingness to travel
A valid driver's license and clean driving record required. MVR will be checked and monitored
Completion of assigned survey projects, including:
Property (Land & Boundary) Surveys
Topographic Surveys
Property Stakeout
Construction Layout (Roads, Buildings, etc.)
Wetlands Surveys
Terrestrial Lidar Surveys (Laser scanning)
As-built Surveys
Software/Equipment:
GPS
Robotic Total Station
Terrestrial Lidar
Data Collector
AutoCAD, Civil 3D
