Position DescriptionPerforms functions of the school health program under the supervision of the Superintendent of Schools and the principal.Essential Functions:
Adhere to the Connecticut Code of Professional Responsibility
Ensures safety of students
Implements the Windham Board of Education and administrative policies, rules, regulations and directives
Compile and maintain cumulative health records and emergency information for all assigned pupils and personnel
Administer prescribed medication to students as needed
Maintains accurate and complete records as required
Participate as a member of the PPT team, in the counseling and guidance of students, parents and school personnel concerning health problems that interfere with learning.
Provide necessary first aid and emergency care in accordance with established policies and to exercise professional judgement of illness or injuries and to follow approved procedures
Maintains respect for confidential information
Maintain a positive school community image that encourages ethical student behavior
Maintain ongoing communication with parents
Other duties as assigned by Administrator and/or Superintendent
Establish and maintain professional relationships
Qualifications/Certificates:
Bilingual(Spanish/English) preferred.
Current CT Nurse License required (RN)
Experience working with a diverse student demographic
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Windham Board of Education may find appropriate
