A Hartford based manufacturing company is looking for a Director of Finance to join their established accounting team. As a key member of the management team, this finance director is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for a major entity of this global organization. Leading a team of 2 direct reports, plus a team of indirect reports, you will be a driver for their month end close procedure including profit and loss statements, and balance sheet analysis. Ensures the company's system of accounts and books and records on all company transactions andassets are properly maintained and controlled. Compares performance with operating plans and standards and reports and interprets the results ofoperations to all levels of management. Provides status of the financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting, and reportingkey financial data. Prepares and oversees financial reports Oversee the financial accounting system required to maintain reporting and internal controls. Prepare and analyze product cost information to assist in determining appropriate pricing andidentifying cost-saving opportunities Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Oversee tax compliance matters including federal, multi-state and local corporate tax; state and localsales tax; property tax; payroll tax; import and export reporting. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing andnew legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises management ofactions and potential risks. Arranges for audits as required and appropriate.Skills
