Sherm's Catering is now hiring Delivery Drivers and Banquet Servers to join our award winning team! We focus on weddings, corporate meetings and other special events and we provide a full range of menu selections.
Banquet Servers are responsible for all table service duties including refreshing water and clearing. In addition, Banquet Servers will complete prep work including placing table linens and setting tables, as well as closeout tasks.
Delivery Drivers are responsible for all delivery preparation duties including pulling necessary items for deliveries and ensuring proper food handling and vehicle safety. In addition, Delivery Drivers will make arrangements for and pick up delivery items as necessary.
Weâd prefer to hire professionals with previous catering experience, but are willing to train the right candidate. If you have worked in a catering or restaurant setting before, we definitely want to hear from you!
Responsibilities and Duties (Banquet Server)
~Set up venue before event begins including buffet with food presentation standards and practices in mind
~Run food from the kitchen to the banquet hall on demand
~Respond to guest requests for beverages, appetizers and other needs
~Communicate with Banquet Caption as well as other servers and event organizers
~Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks
Qualifications and Skills (Banquet Server)
~Nights and weekends required
~Previous waitstaff experience a plus
~ABC and/or TIPS Alcohol Certification preferred but not required, or be willing to obtain
~Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
~Able to lift 20-40 pounds
~Reliable transportation required
~Valid Driverâs License preferred
Responsibilities and Duties (Delivery Drivers)
~Pull delivery items needed per order, Verify orders to ensure all items are loaded for complete delivery and work with the Logistics Manager or other appropriate management as instructed to resolve problems
~Adhere to assigned schedule while delivering orders in a safe and timely manner
~Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind
~Serve as a Brand Ambassador and respond to customer concerns
~Report any vehicle safety issues. Conduct a Vehicle Inspection Report of delivery vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
~Communicate with Logistics Manager and Office Manager as well as other Drivers and event organizers
~Clean up Delivery Area daily and assist with inventory, food storage and other delivery tasks
Qualifications and Skills (Delivery Drivers)
~Daytime availability with some nights and weekends
~Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
~Able to lift 20-40 pounds
~Ability to read and comprehend simple delivery preparation and cleaning instructions, ability to comprehend complex directions to specific physical locations
~Reliable transportation required
~Valid Driverâs License required with a safe driving record
~Must have a positive and professional attitude
