Spend the summer on the Bay! NorthBay seeks Waterfront Workers for the summer. NorthBay Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at the head of the picturesque Chesapeake Bay in Elk Neck State Park; and is looking to fill multiple part-time, seasonal positions with 10 – 30 hours available per week. Waterfront Workers assist in running a variety of activities including tubing, kayaking and sailing. These positions are a great fit for high school students, college students, or anyone looking for a fun, part-time job.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with the operation of marine activities including: tubing, kayaking and small boat sailing.
Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of all power boats, kayaks, sailboats as well as all waterfront equipment and facilities. This includes washing of boats and docks, small repairs, sanitizing, cleaning and other tasks as necessary.
Establishing and maintaining positive and professional relationships with guests and coworkers.
Enforcing all rules and guidelines; ensuring the safety of all guests and coworkers.
Responding to any emergency situation including, but not limited to: drowning, injuries, adverse weather, etc.
Qualifications:
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Be at least 16 years of age.
Willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
Possess or be able to obtain Maryland Safe Boating certificate.
Be familiar with, experienced in or have strong interest in power boats, boating, sailing, kayaking, canoeing or other water based activities.
Willingness to help with tasks outside of job description, as necessary.
Team player with a pleasant and positive demeanor.
Ability to follow directions.
