With a goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins, we create products for consumers and for retail and foodservice customers around the globe, while changing the way animals are raised for food.SummaryThis is a promotional position that oversees the production lines or areas processing poultry products, assisting the department supervisor in the daily operation coordination the workforce, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Requires working with raw poultry products. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 4:30 pm- 3:00 am.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Take an active role to make sure all tools and stations are safe to use for the welfare of the associates.

To direct the workforce within the department in order to ensure all positions are filled according to daily production needs and standards.

To coordinate the rotation, schedule every two hours to meet OSHA safety requirements and to ensure that all Perdue safety policies are adhered to.

Take an active role in training new hires in order, that they meet departmental job requirements and are working as a team to meet departmental goals.

To perform all positions within the department as outlined in the job description in order to relieve associates as necessary.

Play active role in sending out A-Grade product to meet and/or exceed our customers satisfaction, and at the same time to keep our yield numbers where they need it to be.

Minimum EducationHigh School or equivalent not required but beneficial.Experience Requirements

External: worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field

Internal: minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.

Experience PreferredMust have lead or supervisory experience in production environment preferred.Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsWhen in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours.
