JOB DESCRIPTION: School Program Guides work as a team to deliver Winterthur’s educational programs. Programs include in-person and virtual field trips for students from PreK through 12th grade, and outreach trips to schools and community centers. This position requires an enthusiasm for learning and for working with children, strong customer service skills, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Guides adapt program delivery to suit the varying ages, leaning styles, and knowledge levels among participating students and families. Responsibilities:
Lead groups of students from PreK to 12th grade through field trips in Winterthur’s Museum, Galleries, and Gardens.
Travel up to 30 miles to deliver outreach programs at schools, libraries, and community centers.
Connect with classes virtually for remote adaptations of Winterthur’s field trips.
Set up materials before programs and clean and reset materials and spaces afterwards.
Participate in an initial training to learn program content and pedagogy, as well as monthly staff meetings and occasional training sessions.
Compensation:$15.00/hour

Work Schedule: Available for at least 15 hour per week . Most school programs take place between 9am and 2pm Monday through Friday. Occasional travel up to 30 miles to for off-site visits to school.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience in customer service, teaching, or interpreting.
Knowledge/Skills:
Experience working with children from ages 3 to 18.
Working knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Virtual teaching or presenting experience desired.
Knowledge and/or interest in art, history, science, horticulture, and/or environmental science.
Maintain group dynamics to ensure visitor and collection safety.
Essential Functions:
Available for at least 15 hour per week . Most school programs take place between 9am and 2pm Monday through Friday
Work indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
Move up to 25 pounds.
