We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Coordinator to join our team. This role requires a strong background in medical billing, with expertise in federal and district billing. Proficiency in SimplePractice or similar billing software is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review and submit accurate invoices for mental health services to federal and district agencies, evidence-based associates (EBA) and department of corrections
Manage authorizations, insurance payments, and resolve non-payments while coordinating with collection agencies
Ensure compliance with billing regulations and organizational policies
Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and payments
Utilize SimplePractice and other billing platforms to manage invoicing and payment tracking efficiently
Resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely collections
Work closely with internal teams to gather necessary documentation and billing information
Generate reports and provide insights to support financial decision-making
Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
Mental-health or medical billing - 2+ years of experience required
Proficiency in billing software (SimplePractice) and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
Self motivator with excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
