Atlas CPA Inc. is seeking an experienced contract tax accountant to support our firm on an as-needed, project-based basis during peak periods and for specialized engagements. This is ideal for a seasoned preparer who wants flexible, gig-style work without full-time commitments.
About the Role
You will assist with the preparation and review of:
Individual income tax returns (1040) S Corporation returns (1120-S) C Corporation tax returns (1120) Partnership tax returns (1065) Occasional bookkeeping clean-up or adjusting entries, depending on projectTax planning and projections
Workload will vary based on client demand. Assignments may include full return preparation, review of completed returns, bookkeeping clean-up for tax readiness, and preparing adjusting journal entries when needed.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on tax preparation experienceStrong proficiency with individual, corporate, and partnership filingsAbility to work independently with minimal oversightExperience with QuickBooks OnlineExperience with UltraTax (preferred but not required)Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlinesComfortable working remotely and communicating clearly via email/Zoom
Work Arrangement & Hours
This is a 1099 contract positionFlexible schedule – work when you’re availableHours fluctuate based on project flow (heaviest Jan–Apr, May–Oct extension work)Remote work is fully supported
