Property Management Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong baseline accounting skills to expand those skills and become involved in the corporate accounting of our growing company. The position will be responsible for handling the full cycle accounting of multiple real estate properties and for performing the bi-weekly payroll for HBW.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Property Management

Manage general ledger, reconciliations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable for managed properties.

Prepare annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and property tax reconciliations.

Set up tenant leases, prepare monthly rent roll and rent increase letters, record tenant payments.

Prepare year-end financial reporting packages, prepare monthly financial reporting package for each managed property.

Payroll

Gather timekeeping data, calculates time worked, including overtime, ensures the data is correct and resolves timecard issues.

Ensure the payroll system is up to date with correct compensation data for each employee including salary, hourly rates, regular and overtime hours, paid time off, holiday, incentive, back pay and retroactive pay increases.

Responsible for paycheck deductions, such as state and federal income tax, FICA, wage garnishments, retirement contributions and health insurance premiums.

Files and remits payroll taxes, retirement contributions and wage garnishments to the appropriate parties. Forwards the direct deposit file to the bank and prints paychecks and pay stubs.

Addresses internal payroll inquiries from managers, supervisors, and employees.

QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Two to three years of full-cycle accounting experience required. Property management and Payroll accounting experience a plus.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite and various types of accounting software. Experience with Sage 300 and PVault is a plus.

Thrives in a friendly, fast-paced, team-oriented environment where accountability, work ethic and a "can do" attitude is a necessity.

Displays excellent customer service skills and unwavering integrity.
