The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is conducting a Title VI Onboard Survey of Ride On Transit Services in order to continue to qualify for federal transit funding. This survey will also allow Ride On to make informed decisions about future fixed route, microtransit, and express bus services.
MCDOT's contractors Whitman, Requardt & Associates (WRA) and RJM Engineering, Inc. are looking to recruit and hire five (5) Transit Data Collectors to conduct the onboard survey. You should be detail-oriented, friendly, and comfortable talking with new people.
Each weekday during the survey, Transit Data Collectors will report to a Ride On facility (Brookville, Nicholson, or Gaithersburg) and be assigned to ride with an operator for the day. The Transit Data Collectors will request customers to complete the survey and collect basic ridership information.
The jobs will last 6 to 8 weeks starting the week of October 21st. WRA is most interested in recruiting from bus riders and persons who understand the transit operating environment. Candidates should be very friendly and have good communications skills. Bilingual persons especially Spanish and Chinese speakers will be needed.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Administer and collect surveys from passengers who use Ride On transit routes;
- Encourage riders to take the survey;
- Answer questions riders may have about the survey;
- Assist individual riders in completing the survey, if needed;
- Refer customers with service-related questions to Ride On Customer Service;
- Report all customer service issues pertaining to the survey to Project Supervisor;
- Provide suggestions for improving efficiency of survey administration procedures.
