Prep Academy Tutors is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Algebra II Tutor to provide in-person tutoring services to high school students in Bowie, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for helping students succeed. Tutoring sessions will take place at the student’s home or a local library, and the commitment is for the entire school year.
Responsibilities:
-Provide one-on-one tutoring in Algebra II to high school students.
-Develop customized lesson plans and strategies to meet each student’s individual needs.
-Assist students with homework, test preparation, and understanding complex algebraic concepts.
-Track and report on students’ progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
-Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about students’ progress and areas for improvement.
-Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
-Previous tutoring or teaching experience in Algebra II or higher-level math.
-Strong understanding of Algebra II concepts and curriculum.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
-Reliable transportation to travel to students’ homes or local libraries in Bowie, MD.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Teaching certification or advanced degree in Mathematics or Education.
-Experience working with high school students.
-Familiarity with the local school curriculum and standards.
Schedule:
