Student Profile:
7th grade student with documented diagnoses of dyslexia (orthographic, double-deficit subtype) and ADHD-Inattentive. Bright, engaged learner with strong reasoning abilities who requires specialized instruction in reading fluency, spelling/orthographic mapping, and executive function skills.
REQUIRED Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):
Active Orton-Gillingham certification (minimum Associate level from AOGPE/IDA-accredited program)
OR Wilson Reading System, Barton Reading & Spelling, or IMSLEC certification
Minimum 3 years documented experience working with students with dyslexia
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Reading Specialist, or related field
Experience teaching orthographic patterns, morphology, and multisensory spelling instruction
Valid background check
References from families of students with similar profiles
Strongly Preferred:
Master's degree in Special Education or Reading
CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) or equivalent
Training in executive function coaching (SMARTS, Unstuck & On Target, or similar)
Middle school experience (ages 11-14)
Experience with students who have co-occurring ADHD and dyslexia
Position Details:
2-3 sessions per week, 60-90 minutes each
Flexible scheduling (afternoons/early evenings preferred)
Rate: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications
Start date: Immediate
Materials/resources provided; structured lesson planning required

Orthographic mapping and spelling remediation
Reading fluency development
Morphology and advanced phonics
Executive function strategies (organization, task initiation, working memory support)
Study skills and homework management
