Overview
The Area Engineering Manager oversees facilities maintenance for two properties, reporting to the Area Director of Engineering. Responsibilities include managing building systems (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, fire safety), ensuring guest areas are well-maintained, and leading the engineering team in compliance with safety and energy standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain property, equipment, and grounds in safe condition.
Implement preventive maintenance and energy conservation programs.
Oversee emergency system inspections and compliance with laws, including ADA.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and profit/loss reviews.
Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff.
Handle maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
Conduct regular assessments of hotel operations and maintenance.
Coordinate vendor contracts and follow safety/OSHA standards.
Support special projects, renovations, and efficient operations.
Qualifications
At least 3 years in hotel facilities management or related field.
Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and boiler operations.
Ability to lift heavy loads and work flexible hours.
Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Stationary Engineer’s license as per local code.
