In this vital role you will be responsible for developing a strategic approach to executing and improving the process of planning Congresses and delivering world class customer engagements. As a strategic problem solver, this individual must have strong project management experience, the ability to identify needs, streamline processes and meet deliverables. This role will help support and understand current operations, redefine processes and lead Amgen into a seamless and efficient operating model.The individual will be a part of the Amgen Congress Team (ACT) who will oversee Exhibit requests provided by the sales organization to attend events and activities. This person will have a unique position on the ACT driving congress objectives provided by multiple brands in various specializations. They will report on budget performance, present KPI’s and assist in strategic initiatives to deliver a better experience for internal and external customers.Responsibilities:

Provide a centralized service of excellence in the execution of exhibits for local-level events, delivering best-in-class partnerships with the commercial and medical organizations

Execute strategic imperatives provided by multiple brands for field led exhibits

Develop and enforce project timelines and support multi-disciplinary teams to ensure individual contributors achieve objectives and produce high-quality deliverables

Understand the needs of key internal and external stakeholders and provide them with required inputs, fostering a symbiotic and aligned relationship, delivering quality customer service and execution excellence

Coordinate the work of multiple external agency partners and internal departments including ACT, marketing, sales, legal, regulatory, and medical affairs

Support internal review / approval process for promotional materials

Gain understanding of Amgen’s cross-functional capabilities in the exhibit and congress space, the incentives and objectives of each unique stakeholder, and effectively become a link between the Commercial and Medical Organizations

The congress planning and execution professional we seek is a collaborator with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Master’s degreeORBachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experienceORAssociate’s degree and 6 years of related experienceORHigh school diploma / GED and 8 years of related experiencePreferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in congress planning and execution or 2-3 years biotechnology/pharmaceutical experience

Strong project management and organizational skills – the ability to set targets, track to milestones, and complete projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills – experience partnering with Marketing, Marketing Operations, Sales, Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Legal, Regulatory, and external vendors

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening and presentation skills

An understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the medical, legal, and regulatory affairs review process

Strong computer and database skills (e.g., SmartSheets, Microsoft Office products, Project management software)

Prior experience working with external partners such a creative and congress agencies

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Exhibit high emotional intelligence, with demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate through challenging situations, difficult conversations, and ambiguous assignments

Impeccable ethics and integrity and comfort operating in a highly regulated environment
