$35 Hour—Personal Assistant/Event Planner for Friendly Journalist

Hi All,

I’m a real journalist—experienced and credentialed. Along with my husband, a medical doctor, we enjoy hosting brunches and other events at our home in Chevy Chase. I’m looking for an organized, upbeat, detail-oriented person who is also somewhat tech-savvy. Preferably, this would be someone with project management or event planning skills who can help us make our frequent brunches happen. You’d be involved by helping schedule these small events, decide on guest lists and fulfill invitations. Likely you would NOT be involved in cooking or serving at our events (we'll do that).

Beside event planning, I’d like help managing my home office—including filing papers, handling emails and so forth. What’s more, there could be some household organization or home renovation projects involved with this job. This job would not involve cleaning (we have a housekeeper for that).

Specifically, I’m looking for this personal assistant to help in three-hour segments a few times each week at $35 per hour ($105 for each three hour segment).

Potential time slots for this work would be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoons. Alternatively I could use help on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings. In addition, some Saturday mornings or afternoon slots could work out well.

This flexible job could be fine with for someone who might have regular employment during business hours or who is going through a career transition. It would be terrific if you are organized and have project management skills, even if you don't have event planning skills.

We are conveniently located in Chevy Chase, MD, right off Wisconsin avenue near downtown Bethesda. We have free and easy parking in our driveway or on the street. Alternatively, we have close access by Metro, bus, Uber/Lyft.
