Bobby Mckey's Dueling Piano bar at the National Harbor is looking for a full time Kitchen manager.
Kitchen Manager duties and responsibilities
· Manage inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
· Order food supplies and dry goods as needed
· Responsible for receiving schedule and ensure that all products are checked in upon delivery
· Supervise food prep and cooking
· Checking food plating and temperature
· Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
· Hiring new staff and providing training to facilitate quick acclimation
· Streamlining the kitchen process to maintain prompt service times
· Working with GM to develop and maintain the restaurant menu
· Price menu items in collaboration with GM
· Setting/ scheduling cleaning standards in order to maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
· Balance staff and business scheduling needs, create optimal shift schedules
Daily duties of a Kitchen Manager?
Kitchen Managers are one of the first employees to arrive at a restaurant/ bar before opening. They check inventory levels and make note of what food needs to be prepared for the upcoming shift. During meal service, Kitchen Managers may help expedite, coordinating cooks at various stations to finish their dishes at the same time. They will fill in as cooks during busy times. At the end of the day, the Kitchen Manager helps their staff clean the cooking stations and organize cooking tools for the next shift.
