We are looking for a Lead Cook for our upcoming Food Trailer "Nik-Hut Grille". The menu is a Mediterranean Fusion, therefore, we need a passionate Lead Cook who can assist in pre-opening, preparing Mediterranean meals and also handle prep of food which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables as well as marinating meats.
Position Reports to: Owner
Culinary Skills:
1. Preparing salads, and sauces as per the menu instructions.
2. Plating and garnishing meal items in accordance with the SOP.
3. Supervising the work of Jr. cook to ensure that all given tasks are completed in a timely manner.
4. Ensuring that all cooking stations are adequately stocked with the necessary meal ingredients and cooking equipment.
5. Ensuring that all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each shift.
6. Adhering to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination.
7. Assessing the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure that it meets our standards.
8. Ability to work flexible or extended hours when required.
9. Must posses experience in grilling Meat & Chicken.
Lead Cook Requirements:
1. Minimum 2 years experience in Mediterranean Food.
2. Proven cooking experience.
3. A food handler's license will be an added advantage. Otherwise the company will pay for Food Handler License &
Training.
4. Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
5. The ability to work as part of a team.
6. The ability to stand for extended periods.
7. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
8. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
9. Decent command in English spoken, reading and writing.
