At Other Half, we are pioneers in the craft brewing industry, committed to pushing the boundaries of beer and its surrounding culture. We are seeking a Packaging Operator to join our team, playing a vital role in ensuring the efficient packaging of our high-quality beer. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for delivering exceptional products to our customers.

This is a very hands-on position. Flexibility with schedule and ability to work evenings, graveyard shifts, and weekends are a must. The candidate must be able to multitask efficiently, problem solve, and work well with others and independently. Thorough knowledge of process, quality, and raw materials is obligatory. Moreover, strong planning and organizational abilities are essential. Communication skills, both written and oral, attention to detail, and an emphasis on quality are paramount for success in this role.

Core Responsibilities:

Operate packaging machinery, such as canning, keg washing, keg filling, and bottling lines, with precision and efficiency to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.

Perform setup, changeovers, and adjustments to packaging equipment as needed, ensuring smooth and continuous operation.

Perform regular cleaning in place (CIP) and maintenance of packaging equipment, cellar equipment, and draft line equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Monitor packaging processes closely, conducting quality checks and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and waste.

Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, including production counts, downtime, and quality control data.

Assist with the organization and inventory tracking of raw materials, kegs, labels, cans, bottles, etc.

Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.

Perform various brewing quality test procedures, such as use of Anton Paar Alcolyzer, DMA, pH meters, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) meters, Carbon Dioxide measurements.

Collaborate with team members across departments to coordinate packaging schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.

Assist with preventative maintenance procedures as needed for brewing and testing equipment.

Demonstrate flexibility to assist in other brewery operations as needed, contributing to the overall success of the brewery.

Support logistics by loading and unloading trucks for shipments between breweries and receiving materials, finished goods and equipment, ensuring efficient operations

Support Front of House operations by assisting with the setup and breakdown of brewery events, ensuring venues are prepared according to specifications.

Collaborate with FOH team members to maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces and public areas, contributing to a positive guest experience.

Requirements:

Previous experience in packaging or manufacturing operations preferred, with familiarity with packaging machinery and processes.

Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting production targets while maintaining product quality.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members at all levels.

Operate various machinery such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and scissor lifts as needed to support operations.

Perform various quality test procedures, such as use of micrometers and calipers, DO meters, CO2 measurements.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed, to support production demands.

Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and operating machinery.

The base pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.

All full time employees are eligible for medical, vision, and dental insurance first of the month following 60 days of employment. All employees that meet the requirements for the 401k benefit are eligible to participate first of the month following 6 months.
