Two Nineteen Restaurant seeks Working Head Chef to lead rebranding of business and culinary concept. Position offers the opportunity for wide creativity in menu writing. Open to different culinary backgrounds and techniques. Must show love and passion for cooking. Seeking chefs with a positive attitude who can communicate openly and take constructive criticism well. Clipboard chefs need not apply. Driven rising sous chefs welcome to apply.
Requirements include:
10+ years prior experience and ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced service while remaining calm under pressure
Bold, inventive, modern culinary techniques
Proven track record of effectively managing food costs, labor costs, inventory, and all other aspects of BOH management
Ability to create innovative and interesting seasonal and/or custom menus for holidays, private events, banquets, etc. in a timely manner
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
VA Food Handlers License a plus
Experience in implementation of structure, rules, and regulation in BOH management
Capable of creating distinct, interesting menus for separate concepts (upstairs cigar lounge, main dining floor, and downstairs sports bar) while still maximizing cross utilization of products
Applicants for the Working Sous Chef are also welcome. This position will work closely with the Working Head Chef and fulfill its responsibilities in his/her absence. Ambitious, rising lead line cooks encouraged to apply.
Requirements include:
5+ years working in refined, established kitchens under the guidance of reputable chefs
Ability to take initiative and hardworking attitude
Familiarity across all stations (sauté, grill, salad, etc.)
Experience with BOH management
Ability to support Working Executive Chef as needed and follow direction
Assisting in creation, writing, and execution of new menus
VA Food Handlers License a plus
Positions for Lead Line Cooks also available. Applicants must all be hard-working, professional, and take initiative but also follow direction well. Requirements include:
5+ years of substantial experience in a fine-dining kitchens
Successful execution of the line at all times, especially rush service, while maintaining a high standard
Ability to correctly follow recipes
Ability to work all stations
Willingness and ability to learn quickly
Strong work ethic and self-motivated
Knowledgeable to VA food safety and handling regulations
VA Food Handlers License a plus
Dishwashers/Prep Cooks may also apply. Requirements include:
