Job Overview:
As the Government Affairs Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact between our organization and government agencies, legislators, and regulators. Your role will involve advocating for the organization’s interests, influencing public policy, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This is a critical position for helping shape policy outcomes that benefit both our organization and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, legislators, and regulatory bodies.
Monitor legislative and regulatory activities that impact the organization’s interests.
Develop and implement strategies to influence policy and legislative processes in alignment with organizational goals.
Advise senior leadership on policy trends, risks, and opportunities.
Represent the organization at meetings, hearings, and other public forums.
Draft position papers, policy briefs, and other communications to support advocacy efforts.
Collaborate with internal teams to align policy and regulatory strategies with business objectives.
Manage external consultants or lobbyists as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or related fields.
Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at local, state, and federal levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze complex regulatory and legislative issues and translate them into actionable strategies.
Strong network of relationships within government and the public sector is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
